An energy and commodity trading company, primarily based in crude oil, petrochemicals and bio-fuels. Our goal is to construct strong, efficient and stable "bridges" between supply and demand, between different countries and continents, between opportunities and execution.
Initially starting in Kazakhstan, we have expanded internationally. We trade and distribute energy and commodities responsibly and safely around the world using our global logistical expertise and our as well as our global partners' infrastructure networks.
We are building our market position strongly founded on long-term relationships, market understanding, our expertise, diligent market and financial analyses, reputation of reliability and focus on solutions.
Marine fuel - fuel used in ship power generating plants. There are two main categories: heavy and light fuels. Marine fuel oil grades F-5 and F-12 is intended for combustion in ship power plants. Compared to heating oil grades 40 and 100, it has better characteristics: lower viscosity, content of mechanical impurities and water, ash content; lower pour point. Marine low-viscosity fuel (SMF) according to TU 38.101567-87 is a medium distillate fuel, in contrast to motor diesel fuel and marine high-viscosity fuel obtained by mixing residual and medium distillate fractions. Designed for use in marine power plants instead of diesel fuel. DT motor fuel according to GOST 1667-68 is close in viscosity to F-5 marine fuel oil, but it can include all components that ensure fuel quality. In 2015, new environmental regulations for marine fuels used in emission control areas came into force. These requirements provide for limiting the content of sulfur compounds in marine fuel to no more than 0.1%. Low sulfur residual fuel RMLS 40 (Residual Marine Low Sulfur). Sulfur content - no more than 0.5%, which meets the requirements of MARPOL.
Fuel oil is a residual product of oil distillation. It is also processed, getting automobile oils, paraffin and petroleum bitumen - a slightly viscous or solid substance.
For the operation of stationary heating systems, industrial and household stoves, power plants, boiler and furnace fuel is used. The heating oil boiler has a high efficiency and requires minimal human intervention, therefore it is in demand for heating suburban real estate using autonomous systems. For heating oil, strict standards are not established for the value of cetane and iodine numbers, cloud point, and the amount of sulfur often exceeds 1%. This suggests that such fuel is cheaper and easier to manufacture than diesel fuel, and, accordingly, lower in cost.
One of the export oil grade is the CPC Blend. CPC Blend is a very light (45.3° API), sweet crude (0.56% sulfur) that is valued for its high yield of gasoline and light distillates. Other blends include Kazakh-Urals: a mix of heavy sour oil with a typical API degree of 30.68 and 1.48% sulphur level, it is a medium sour crude, used predominantly in Eastern and Central Europe and in the Mediterranean. Based on the quantities of interest, the option of finding and exporting crude with certain specific specifications is possible.
Bioethanol is, in fact, ordinary ethanol, which is obtained in the process of processing plant raw materials. The main material for its production is corn and sugar cane. In addition to these plants are also ideal: potatoes, sweet potatoes, barley and other crops. In addition, many manufacturers manage to get this product in large quantities from cellulose. The raw materials in this case are such wastes from agriculture and forestry as sawdust, wheat and rice straw, and much more.
Bioethanol is an alternative biofuel for cars. Given all the opportunities and benefits of this type of fuel, it is not surprising that the production of bioethanol increases. You can now buy biofuels of environmentally friendly origin at our plant. Our product meets modern quality standards.
Diesel oil is a complex mixture produced by the distillation of crude oil. It consists of hydrocarbons having carbon numbers predominantly in the range of C9–C20 and boiling points in the range of ∼163–357°C (325–675°F).
The production of diesel fuel is analogous to that of gasoline: first distillation, second various conversion steps, and third clean-up.
Therefore, diesel fuel must be sprayed and cannot be evaporated in air without risking pre-ignition.
Mostly Isthmus works with 1st type, 3rd sub-type, 3rd class wheat grain, as well as the highest grade. Due to good relations with the fields in Kazakhstan, Isthmus can really match the demand in the grain specifications (gluten, mass fraction of gluten, glassiness).
Urea is a source of Nitrogen, an essential nutrient crucial for crop growth and development. Urea is the most important nitrogenous fertilizer in many countries because of its high N content (46%N). Isthmus works with suppliers from Turkmenistan and Oman.
Transportation of petroleum products requires from us careful observance of fire and environmental safety.
We deliver petroleum products in several ways:
- by road (strictly specialized fuel trucks with the function of heating the tank),
- through oil pipelines
- by sea and river vessels,
- by rail (tank cars).
At the same time, any type of transport undergoes an appropriate safety check, as well as various preventive measures before and after transportation.
All types of vehicles of Isthmus S.A. have special equipment for the safe pumping of oil products and the corresponding passports.
